Lets Talk About Who Haley Bastin Is & Where Do You Come From?

Today, we spotlight Haley Bastin, an esteemed professional from Louisville, Kentucky. I am a native of the city’s east end and my roots are deeply embedded in the beautiful Bluegrass State. I am a proud Alumni of Ballard High School and the prestigious University of Kentucky. After graduating from college, I made a life changing decision to move to Tampa, Florida. At the age of 22, I found myself in a completely new city with no friends or family, just me & my dog, Bleu. While many people in my life found this move to be scary, I found it exciting. For the first time, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery. I was now surrounded by sunshine, palm trees, and stunning beaches, which encompass all the things I love. Living in Tampa has taught me that being in an environment that nurtures your best qualities allows you to grow and thrive in your God-given talents and abilities. I’ve had the opportunity to explore various career paths, build new relationships, and experience many new things since then. My journey demonstrates my adventurous nature and love for new experiences. The past few years have come full circle as I am now walking in alignment with my purpose, still residing in the beautiful Sunshine State, and contributing in a meaningful way to my hometown.

What Motivates You?

Living a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose motivates me. I strive to lead a life that I consider rich, not in terms of monetary value, but in experiences and fulfillment. My role as Co-Founder at Better Lifestyle Events has taught me to appreciate the simple things and fully embrace life’s journey. In my early 20’s I believed that happiness was found in achieving superficial or monetary goals. However, upon reaching these goals, I would simply set new ones, perpetually suffering from ‘destination disease.’ Now, I can confidently say that I find greater motivation and satisfaction in the simple joys of showing up authentically, helping those around me, and dedicating more time to activities that bring me joy.

What Inspires You To Want To Do Community Work & Help Others?

Growing up, I was lucky to have parents who ingrained the importance of service into me from a very young age. If a family member, friend, neighbor, or even a stranger was in need, my parents would step in to help if they could. My family was always active, whether it was at my mom’s social work events, local church gatherings, or community activities. This became second nature for me to want to help and uplift others. I firmly believe that many people aspire to do great things in the world. If we continue to connect, bridge gaps, and serve others, we can achieve these goals much faster and more effectively than trying to do so alone.

What Type Of Things Do You Do To Foster A Healthy Lifestyle?

Creating a healthy lifestyle is a process that I am still refining. As I navigate through different stages of my life, my understanding of what constitutes a healthy lifestyle continues to evolve. Growing up, I was always active and participated in sports throughout high school, which led me to consider myself as ‘healthy’. Now, in my early adulthood, I have begun to consider other aspects of my health beyond physical exercise. These include redefining my relationship with food to include nutritionally beneficial meals, becoming more self-aware to establish a healthy work-life balance, identifying new ways to manage stress, using journaling as a daily outlet for reflection and gratitude, and deepening my faith. Once I began expanding my focus to include other aspects of health in my life, I noticed a significant improvement in my overall physical wellbeing.

What Are Your Daily Regimens?

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m always striving to improve and maintain my routine, but I’ve managed to establish a solid framework that has been extremely beneficial in the last couple of years. For me to feel that my day has been successful I need to do the following, complete my early morning workout, take at least a 45 minute nature walk with Bleu and be in the sunshine, spend at least 30 minutes in prayer, meditation, and devotion, journal to express gratitude, plan out my daily agenda and tasks, listen to a sermon or podcast, accomplish at least one productive thing to advance my business, and conclude my day by reading at least one chapter of a book.

What Advice Would You Give Someone Who ITrying To Live A Better Lifestyle?

My advice to anyone seeking a healthier lifestyle would be to first identify the area you wish to improve. Then, be honest with yourself to determine the root cause of the issue. The process of creating a healthy lifestyle can often feel overwhelming because we attempt to change too many things at once, and only on a superficial level, without understanding why we engage in these behaviors in the first place. Without a solid understanding of who you are, why you do the things you do, and what you’re aiming to achieve, it’s all too easy to adopt “new habits” for a few weeks, only to find yourself back at square one. This brings me to my second piece of advice: you must have an accountability partner or join a community! One of our primary objectives in establishing Better Lifestyle Events was to create an environment that bridges the gap between individuals that are committed to becoming the best versions of themselves. By increasing the accountability in my life, I have reached far better results than when I was attempting to do it on my own.

What Has It Been Like To BThCo-Founder Of Better Lifestyle Events?

When Twany had first brought the vision of Better Lifestyle Events to me I was immediately captivated. Prior to starting the company, we already had a distinguished friendship and an established business partnership in place so I knew that we would really be able to create something special. Both of us are strong advocates for empowering others, uplifting our community, and ultimately seeing people win at life. We firmly believe there is greatness inside of everyone, and our aim is to cultivate an environment that empowers you to confidently embrace that. Ultimately, life is about cherishing the journey and loving who you are throughout the process.

I am so blessed to be in partnership with someone like Twany Beckham, a true visionary, who has not only helped me expand to new heights in my professional life but has also helped me evolve into a better version of me. As the Co-Founder, I can proudly say that we put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes to ensure that we operate at a level of excellence, but we also have a lot of fun doing it! The true reward lies in allowing our strengths and weaknesses to complement one another while pursuing a mission together that is bigger than us.
